Where It All Started

It all began in 2016 with a group of friends who wanted to elevate the disc golf scene in Mississippi and give back to the community. We had a great vision, a passion for the game, and all the right skills. Together, we established the Big Rip Classic, an event dedicated to providing a first class disc golf experience with a vision to make a positive impact in our community. Through our yearly fundraisers and raffles, we have been able donate thousands of dollars to local, regional, & global charities and donate countless volunteer hours to the upkeep and maintenance of our local state parks and area disc golf courses.

Since 2016 the event has grown from 59 players to approx 400 and is now considered one of the premier events in the southeast. In 2020, the Big Rip Classic became the first full PDGA A-Tier event ever hosted in Mississippi. And in 2022, had one of the largest pro cash payouts in the entire Southeast at over $17,000.  Our team looks to expand the event and the impact from year to year.
